Shelly Rodriguez is a New York based Latina Set Decorator interested in crafting thoughtful, curious work designed to highlight storytelling and character development through objects in space. Originally from Texas, her roots and design process are in experimental theater with a speciality in lighting design. As lighting design was her first love, lighting continues to be a crucial element of her design work as a set decorator.
Shelly believes strongly in the importance of research, mentorship, and continuing education. In the spirit of these values, she takes classes whenever possible to further develop her skills, including drawing courses and fine cooking instruction. She hopes to have the time to explore floral arrangement next.
Her favorite projects are those that allow for close inter-collaboration with her fellow creatives. Let's make something together!
