Shelly Rodriguez is a New York based Latina experimental artist specializing in creating immersive spaces using light. Her work is shaped by her background in lighting design, her career in set decoration for film, and her love for storytelling through objects in space. Selected theater works: HERE Arts Center (Leisure, He Left), Repetorio Español (Asi Van Los Fantasmas, El Laurel del Apolo), Gas and Electric Arts (Behind the Eye), The Assembly (That Poor Dream), Sneaky Nietzsche (Sneaky Nietzsche at LACMA), La Mama (Lost in Lvov), Collective Colour (The Flight), REDCAT (Sack, Smallest Gesture Grandest Frame). Additionally, she was a designer participant in Lincoln Center Director’s Lab and a Williamtown Theater Festival alumna. She received her Master of Fine Arts at California Institute of the Arts.
