THE FAIRY QUEEN OPERA Directed by: Julianne Just
California Institute of the Arts The Fairy Queen is an operatic version of A Midsummer's Night Dream written for the marriage of King William and Queen Mary. Our version highlights the fairies as drug induced party animals in Titania's train juxtaposed against a quite stoic Oberon. The loveless relationship between the two fairies mirrors the real life turbulence of William and Mary. Photographs courtesy of Scott Groller and Shelly Rodriguez
